Counsellors and Psychosexual Therapists
Relate Severn and Wye has vacancies for experienced, qualified practitioners to deliver relationship counselling or psychosexual therapy on a sessional basis. We are interested in talking to qualified counsellors who may have previously worked for Relate or have trained to work with couples or families elsewhere.
Experienced counsellors can begin to work for Relate without additional training if their qualifications meet the Relate Assessment of Prior Experience & Learning (APEL) requirements. For accepted APEL training please see our information documents below.
You will be one of a team of Relationship Practitioners that work on a regular basis to deliver appointments across Herefordshire, Worcestershire & Gloucestershire. We are looking for counsellors to offer a minimum of 4 hours per week, preferably more.
Some evening and/or Saturday work will be required.

Student Placements
Relate Severn and Wye only considers applications for placements from students who live within the Worcestershire, Herefordshire & Gloucestershire area and who are undertaking their Level 5 relationship training or above with Relate. We are in need of a student who lives in the Redditch area particularly.

New Trustee
We need an additional Trustee to help us support clients and develop our services in Herefordshire, Worcestershire and Gloucestershire especially following the impact of the pandemic on all of our lives.
What will you be doing?
Do you empathise with our work, and are willing to support what we do by working with a dynamic team of trustees and staff to further develop the charity and its services? Do you have business or not-for-profit experience? Can you spare a few hours each month to support us? If so then we would be delighted to hear from you and receive your application.
What are we looking for?
We are looking for someone who has empathy toward our work, is enthusiastic about helping and can bring a different set of skills to the team.
Our trustees meet monthly in Worcester or by Zoom throughout the year to consider and review Relate Severn and Wye's strategic direction and its business development plans. We need a person who can commit to attending these meetings and occasional other meetings such as the AGM.
What difference will you make?
You will be part of the Board of Trustees and in this role you will contribute to the strategic direction of the charity. Your input into regularly reviewing our services against the agreed business objectives will be vital to help our charity to maintain and further develop its sustainability and impact for local people.

Volunteers for our Charity Shop in Evesham

Key Tasks of the role;
- Welcoming and greeting customers, thanking donors and working on the till.
- Working in the "engine room", sorting donations and steaming clothing.
- Merchandising and updating the window display.
- General housekeeping.
