Keeping your Child in Mind is a group programme run by the Parenting and Group Work Team suitable for intact or separated couple (or any adult with a significant parenting role). Available to all families open to EHP or Childrens Social Care. Keeping Your Child in Mind is a 4-week interactive group programme the four sessions are based on Family Links four constructs of: Self-Awareness, Appropriate Expectations, Boundaries and Positive Discipline, Empathy. These four sessions use knowledge and research about the impact of parental conflict on families to increase parents’ understanding of the influence of parental relationships on children and they link this understanding with some key strategies for maintaining and improving parenting and reducing parental conflict within families. At the current time only families who are being supported by Early Help and prevention teams or Children's social care can access this offer but we are looking to expand.
Me, You and Baby Too helps new and expecting parents navigate the changes that happen in their relationship when a baby arrives.
Triple P Family Transitions. Family Transitions is a group parenting programme for divorced or separated parents. At Family Transitions sessions, you meet other parents going through many of the problems that come with divorce or separation. Your Family Transitions Triple P provider will give you new ideas, techniques, and strategies to help you through the day-to-day dramas and ongoing trauma of your situation. These ideas can help you cope with stress, anger, and change, resolve conflict, and communicate better with your ex.

In Gloucestershire, we have a range of interactive parent group programmes online and in person, that can support you to improve the way you and your partner or ex-partner, communicate through the tricky times in life. Some of these groups are provided by Triple P Parenting, and some by groups in the community. One Plus One Group Courses. Some groups take part on Microsoft Teams, and some are in person in community groups. The programme involves watching videos of couples and situations that will be familiar to all of us and simple activities to take part in. All you need is a smart phone, tablet or laptop. You can choose to join the online group sessions on your own or with your partner or ex-partner. You can also bring along a friend, family member or someone who supports you. There are three programmes to choose from. Arguing Better is for anyone looking to learn how to cope better with stress in their relationship and deal with arguments in a healthy way. Getting it right for children is designed to help separated or separating parents learn to manage conflict and minimise the impact it has on their children.
One off sessions in a relaxed location to talk about co-parenting.
For any parent or parents to work through a selected - short online learning course to learn skills and be empowered to manage conflicts in the home.
A practical and positive evidence-based course for parents who are preparing for, going through or have gone through a separation or divorce. Topics include solving co-parenting problems in a positive way that focus on the needs of children. Cope with the emotional impact of separation and learn stress management techniques. Help your children cope with the impact of separation both emotionally and practically. Enhance communication with their children and with their children's other parent. Who should attend? All separating/ separated parents including mothers, fathers, resident and non-resident parents. Both parents of the same children are encouraged to participate, although we recommend you attend separate sessions. About the course. This free course consists of 6 group sessions for up to 12 parents and each session will last 2 hours 30 minutes with a 15-minute break. You can choose to attend the course virtually or in-person. We'll meet all parents for an individual introductory meeting prior to the group starting to discuss your goals for the course.

Our Relationship Matters internet page has been created for parents and Professionals. It helps identify what support is available for Parents who are experiencing a breakdown of communication (Parental Conflict needs not Domestic Abuse needs), it maybe couples in a relationship or couples who are separating or separated. It raises an awareness of what parental conflict is and the impact it has on parents and children. Parents and Practitioners can download the Amity self help guide that helps give parents advice to help them progress their need. It is user friendly, and we really want parents to feel well supported as we recognise that asking for help is not a easy thing to do but can help towards making positive changes. The website page also has other practitioner resources and a parent self-help page (which practitioners could use with parents, too).
Family Transitions from Triple P is a group parenting programme for divorces or seperated parents. It gives you new ways to help protect your child and yourself from the fallout from a family split.
The programme runs over 7 sessions of 1 to 1.5 hours each and focuses on the co-parenting relationship, including: Individual assessments for each parent where you can discuss your goals and well-being, Co-parenting expectations and experiences, Causes and triggers of family conflicts, Communication styles and what you as parents want from the relationship (love languages, handover practicalities, mentalizing capacity), How you manage tuning into each other and/or the children. Self-care and coping with stress. De-escalation techniques, Potential barriers and solutions planning; further support and local signposting, Ending: reviewing goals, reflections for future relationship maintenance.

The programme’s primary aim is to elevate the quality of family service delivery, address imbalances, tackle inequalities and push for better health and educational outcomes. North Northants Council Family Hubs Programme has commissioned universal and targeted interventions to support families across infant feeding, perinatal mental health and parent-infant relationships, parenting support, and promoting a positive home learning environment.

The resources use videos and animations that incorporate evidence-based techniques to promote behaviour change and help parents to argue in ways that are helpful rather than harmful. There are three modules: Me, You and Baby Too for new and expectant parents. Learn how to navigate the changes that happen in a relationship when a baby arrives, including how you and your partner can support each other, how to talk to bring up difficult topics, how arguments start and how to stop them. Arguing Better for intact couples with entrenched conflict. Disagreements are a normal part of life, how you approach them can make all the difference to you, your partner and your children. You will learn how to recognise stress and how it can affect you, how to support each other through difficult times, what causes arguments and how to stop them. Getting it Right for Children for separating/separated couples. When parents are separating or separated, children can often get caught in the middle. Learn how to manage conflict to minimise the impact it has on your children, as well as how to stop a discussion from turning into an argument, how to stay calm and listen as well as talk. Skills for finding professionals supporting families where there is parental conflict. Professionals will need to attend training to support parents to access the modules except Me, You and Baby Too which is a universal offer as part of the anti-natal package. It is good practice for a practitioner to go through the platforms with parents however parents are able to do this self-directed.

Family Workers in the Targeted Early Help team provide help to families on a range of issues including relationship and family conflict. They help families to recognise how they communicate and behave with each other when they argue and support them to find healthy ways to respond to each other.

The Building Stronger Relationship stream of work include virtual and offline information for parents or co-parents who want to raise children without conflict by ensuring their relationship is as healthy and respectful as it can be. There are self-directed programmes and one to one support from trained practitioners using licensed resources and bespoke toolkits. It also provides young people with a dedicated booklet of activities to help them work through their experiencing if parents are arguing.

There are 3 different programmes for different parenting stages, Me you and Baby too is for new or expectant parents, Arguing better is for parents that are still in a relationship and Getting it right for the children is for separating or separated parents. All programmes look at how to improve communication between parents and how to reduce the impact for children of having parents in conflict.
The Relationships Really Matter parent/carers group is a free 4 session online peer group facilitated by the Reducing Parental Conflict team. The sessions support parent/carers to look at the impact of conflict on children and offers the chance to reflect on their own conflict styles and behaviours and how to implement strategies to improve their communication and reduce impact for children.
Online Stronger Relationships Reducing Parental Conflict-run by SFSC parenting programme. Free online- Reducing Parental Conflict Programmes, which are funded up-front by the DWP, Reducing Parental Conflict Grant. They have 2 online courses available, one exploring relationship for parents living together; and a second where co-parents live apart in different homes but still share children. The 6-week online course offers the flexibility for parents to learn at their own pace and they can access course materials and videos at a time that suits them best.

Families in Harmony programme provides Triple P evidenced based face to face and online programmes for parents who are together and separated.

Conflict between parents is a normal part of relationships and family life. Conflict can be present between parents whether they are together or separated. It can range from a lack of warmth and emotional distance, through to swearing and shouting.
