With over 70 years of experience Relate Hull and East Yorkshire continues to help people strengthen their relationships and pick up the pieces and start over again, as well as supporting couples, young people and families before things reach crisis point.
We look to enhance the quality of couple, parental and family relationships. To limit the damage which commonly accompanies failing relationships, separation and divorce and increase the prospect of subsequent relationships succeeding.
We aim to deliver our service with cultural sensitivity and without discrimination.
Our services can support your relationships through all the stages of your life; from being a child, through to your teenage years, becoming a couple, a parent, a grandparent and retiring into old age.
We all know someone who has been affected by the breakup of a relationship and many of us have first-hand experience of the pain it can cause. In the worst cases relationship difficulties lead to people having mental health problems, losing their job, becoming homeless as well as facing debt, loneliness, and isolation.
Our professionally trained counsellors will support you in a non-judgemental way whether you are older, younger, straight, lesbian, bisexual, transgender, black, white…. Our counsellors and trainers will always give you the respect you deserve.
Relate has trained counsellors waiting to help when people make the brave decision to call and talk about their very private problems. By calling Relate Hull and East Yorkshire or visiting you can get confidential help and support. We will not normally give your name or any information from or about you to anyone outside the organisation unless we have reason to believe that someone, especially a child, is at risk of serious harm.
Ethical Frameworks
We are accredited by and adhere to the BACP (British Association of Counsellors and Psychotherapy) ethical framework.
We will also adhere to the COSRT (College of Sexual and Relationships Therapy) Code of Ethics and Practice and the AFT (Association for Family Therapy) Code of Ethics and Practice, Association for the treatment of Sexual Addiction and Compulsivity (ATSAC) as appropriate for the service being delivered.
