Ewan Malcolm is our Chief Executive and an award-winning mediator.  Through our Relate centre, Ewan is available to mediate a variety of dispute and difficulties. These include:

• Conflicts in organisation,: between Board members, Executives and staff;
• Disagreements among family members, for example about arrangements for care for an elderly relative, wills and probate issues and division of a deceases estate;
• Disputes in the workplace among colleagues, where, for instance, groups of professionals, directors, or owners are at loggerheads about important issues;
• Disharmony among groups of colleagues, for instance in a department or school;
• Facilitating a productive dialogue about the future where discussions have reached an impasse, perhaps among owners of a shared property or shareholders in a community enterprise.
• Disputes between a charity's trustees, staff or members to avoid putting your charity’s funds and users at risk.

Where it would be helpful, Ewan will co-mediate with one of the other highly qualified mediators on our Relate panel.  Ewan also offers supervision support to other specialist mediation services.

Ewan Malcolm was named as Scottish Mediator of the Year in 2008 and the winner of the Mediation Unsung Hero Award in 2018.

After practicing law for 18 years, Ewan Malcom was the founding Director of Scottish Mediation and currently is the CEO of Relate in North West London, Herts, Bucks & Berks.

Ewan holds a Masters in Conflict Resolution & Mediation, has served as Chair of the College of Mediators and was on the Board of the Family Mediation Council.

Ewan has authored a number of published articles on mediation in business, community disputes and supervised mediators in their family case work on a regular basis as Director of Training for CALM Scotland.
