Psychosexual Therapy

Psychosexual Therapy helps those who are experiencing problems or difficulties in their intimate relationships

Psychosexual Therapy (PST)can help you manage the physical and psychological difficulties that you may be experiencing with sex; this often results in bringing partners closer together.

The online therapy sessions are talk based, and our therapist will devise a treatment plan tailored to your needs, giving you exercises to complete between sessions.  Our therapist may also advise you to seek help from your GP whilst you are undergoing the process.  You can attend by yourself or with your partner(s) and you do not have to currently be in a relationship.

What Does PST Involve?

PST is a long process, which may take up to a year.  The first three sessions focus on detailed information gathering and the development of a bespoke treatment plan.  The Initial Assessment is a joint appointment (if you are not coming as an individual) and will give you an opportunity to discuss your issues and concerns to  help clarify if PST or Relationship counselling is the best solution to help you. The Individual History Taking appointment will focus in more detail on the issues you are experiencing and your sexual history.  The third appointment is a joint (if applicable) Round Table Discussion in which the therapist will talk through the proposed treatment plan.  The remaining sessions take you through the treatment process step by step at a pace that you feel comfortable with.

An essential part of this process is the work that you and your partner(s) will be asked to do between sessions.
