Training courses for RAF personnel and/or their partners

With the support of the RAF Benevolent Fund, Relate has developed a range of courses that specifically address some of the challenges that serving personnel and/or their partners face.
Building Stronger Relationships (for Couples)
Building Stronger Relationships (for Individuals)
Life After the Break-Up
Someone to Listen - Peer Listening
Together Apart - Surviving Separated Service

Both the course designs and the Trainers selected to deliver them all ensure that the environment is informal, flexible and puts people at ease. The purpose of the courses is to provide information and skills that will help you manage situations that arise in a constructive manner. Whilst this may prompt you to think of relevant occurrences in the past, these courses are not 'group counselling' sessions and you are not compelled to share these experiences unless you wish to; everyone can contribute as little or as much as they feel comfortable to do so.

If you have a specific relationship issue that you would like to discuss then speaking with a Counsellor may be more appropriate. If you are unsure, please feel free to call 0845 077 5556 to speak to a Relate Consultant who will be able to talk this through with you.

Places on the courses are free - subject to serving personnel being based at a Station covered by the initiative - though places are limited therefore we ask that people only book on if they know they can attend all of course / sessions in full (some of the courses are ran over a number of weeks) as you may inadvertently prevent somebody else going on the course. If you are unsure then please mention this when booking your place(s).
